Car Insurance Pontiac (Car Insurance). what do you do with your motorcycle gear?what do you do with your motorcycle gear? currently i have a top box and i have a jacket. i go to college and store my helmet and jacket in the top box. After recently falling off my bike i have decided i want to get full leathers, helmet and boots. But i dont want to be lugging it all around college all day. What do you guys do and do full leathers fold up quite tightly to fit inside a top box with a helmet. i think i can put up with wearing the boots all day. When I was in college (early 90's), my school had lockers that you could rent in the student union. Handy because the free MC parking was right next to a door for that same building. I've heard of others who made friends with TAs, professors, etc...people with offices where they could deposit their gear. When I went back to school, I just carried all of my gear with me to class. It wasn't a big deal for me, but then again I carry all of my gear with me every time I'm off the bike. Great question, and the reason motorcycle sales have tanked. There is no place to put your stuff! agree the other guys, without top box and hard lockable panniers you are sunk; however, one helpful point; if you use a full face helmet, lock it thru the chin bar in such a way it doesn't fill with rain, that frees up a bit of top box space. Take your gloves with you, strap hang 'em on your back pack. If you wear two piece 'proofs, take the jacket part upstairs and hang up with other coats, but don't forget to shift the wallet & keys etc. Now you are down to just packing the armoured trousers (pants to you) in a top box, and plus advantage is these are not so desirable to low lives on the steal. I use a locking cable - combination lock so I don't have to keep track of a key - and run the cable through a sleeve on the jacket, the chin bar on the helmet and leg of the pants and lock it all to the bike with the jacket on top of the other stuff and in a way that it's more difficult to mess with. We do the same as Dan H, we have a wire lock and just wire through jackets, helmets, and pants if needed. I assume boots you can then swap out for regular shoes in the top case. I've used hiking boots but it always made me nervous, I didn't feel as protected (though that may not be the case). So now I have some great tennis shoes that don't take up too much space that I swap for my boots. Auto parts : Terminal Housing Boot Acura 1995 . Test Light Alfa Romeo 1996 . Pontiac . How to Replace the Headlight Bulb in a 1997 GMC YukonThe headlights on your 1997 Yukon are halogen headlights. The headlight assembly on the Yukon uses a fluted design to disperse the headlight beam into an even pattern. But when the filament in the bulb breaks, you need to replace it. There is no official service life on the headlight bulb. The Yukon uses a 9004-style headlight which is available from most auto-parts stores. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Replacement headlight Step by Step : 1 Open the hood and unplug the electrical connector running to the back of the headlight. 2 Grab the collar of the headlight with your fingers and rotate it counterclockwise in the housing. 3 Pull the headlight out of the back of the housing. 4 Slide the new headlight bulb into the housing and rotate the collar on the headlight clockwise to lock it into the housing assembly. 5 Reconnect the electrical connector to the headlight.
Pontiac . How to Replace the Headlight Bulbs for a 1997 F150The 1997 Ford F-150 uses a dual-beam composite headlight system. When a headlight burns out, the owner only needs to replace one bulb on each side of the vehicle, instead of multiple bulbs or even the entire headlight assembly, as is the case on other vehicles. Replacement headlight bulbs for the 1997 Ford F-150 are available at auto-parts shops. Owners can replace the bulbs without tools. Difficulty:Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Replacement bulb Model No. 9007 Step by Step : 1 Open the hood and examine the back of the headlight assembly in the engine compartment. You will see two black retaining clips, which are used to hold the headlight assembly in the truck's body. 2 Push the tops of the clips toward the back of the engine compartment to disengage the lock and pull up on the clips to release the headlight assembly. 3 Pull the headlight assembly out of the front of the Ford F-150 and pull the electrical connector out of the back of the headlight bulb. 4 Twist the bulb retaining ring to the left and pull outward to remove it from the bulb. 5 Remove the bulb from the assembly by pulling it straight out. 6 Insert the new bulb in the assembly and attach the retaining ring by placing it over the replacement bulb and turning it to the right. 7 Plug the electrical connector into the back of the headlight bulb. 8 Slide the headlight assembly into the Ford F-150, taking care to place it on the support ribs on both sides of the assembly. 9 Press down on the headlight assembly retaining clips to secure the assembly to the vehicle. Step by Step : 10 Repeat Steps 2 through 9 to replace the other headlight. If you see leaks or rusty streaks leading away from the core plugs on your engine block, or signs that leaks from them have dried, and you've been losing liquid lately, you may need to have the core plugs replaced. Your best bet is to seek professional help on this one. If replacing them is a high-ticket item, get a second opinion. Internal leaks Sometimes a leak right under the cylinder head can be the result of an ill-fitting gasket or the fact that the bolts that hold the cylinder head on the engine block are too loose or too tight. If you try to tighten these bolts Chapter 14: Keeping Your Car from Getting Heartburn !? 1 *7 yourself, you may damage the gasket, so the best thing to do is to get professional help here. If a mechanic only has to tighten the bolts, the cost is minimal. <\V ^"~~~ Even if the gasket needs replacing and you can't do the job yourself, you're still ahead if you go to a professional with a good idea of what's wrong and what it'll take to correct the problem. (Don't tell the technician what to do; ask whether it would be wise to try tightening the bolts instead of replacing the gasket immediately.) Pontiac . How does mississippi change?
Volkswagen Golf. * With today's aluminum cylinder heads, it's quite possible that your cylinder head may have small cracks that are allowing coolant to leak internally. If this is the case, usually you'll notice thick, white smoke from the tailpipe and/or engine oil that looks like a mocha milkshake. Also, vehicles with automatic transmissions have a transmission cooler inside the radiator that can leak. When it leaks, coolant mixes with the transmission fluid, making your transmission fluid look like a strawberry milkshake. Both problems require professional help. Leaky u/aterpump Often, a water pump that's about to break down sends out noisy warning signals and then starts to leak before it goes completely. You can check your pump either by shaking the fan belt pulley — when the engine is shut off— to make the pump rattle, or by removing the fan belt that drives the water pump, and running the engine to see whether the noise stops. If it does, the water pump is the noisy culprit. ~ On some overhead cam engines, the water pump is behind the timing cover and is driven by the timing belt, making inspection difficult. Leave those to a professional. If the pump is leaking in the front where it rotates with the belt, you must replace it (the next section tells you how). If the leak is around the gasket that lies between the water pump and the engine, you may be able to stop it by tightening the bolts that hold the water pump in place. If tightening the bolts doesn't do the job, then you probably need a new pump. Replacing a water pump is a lot easier than fixing one. If a rebuilt or remanufactured pump is available for your vehicle, you may be able to get one for about half the price of a new one. Be sure to ask for a 90-day written guarantee. Because you have to pay labor charges to have the pump installed by a mechanic, if you replace yours yourself, you're still way ahead of the deal whether you buy a rebuilt pump or a new one. !? 1 C Part III: Keeping Your Car in Good Condition, System by System If the work seems like too much of a challenge, by all means have a professional do it for you. But call around for prices on a rebuilt water pump first, and bring the rebuilt pump to the mechanic. Make sure that the pump is designed for your vehicle's make, model, and year, comes with a gasket that matches the old one, and has at least a three-month warranty.
